I am a clinical social worker, therapist, who has provided therapy
since 1995. I received my graduate degree from the University of Denver. I have been clinically
licensed as a therapist in the state of Kansas since 2000. I am a member of NASW, ADAA (Anxiety Disorders
Association of America), IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals), and NEDA (National Eating Disorders
Association of America). "I love what I do and I find it very gratifying. I believe that clients are the experts
in their life. Clients are the culmination of mind/body and spirit and all areas can be impacted due to life changes, loss,
stress, crisis, or a desire for personal growth and meaning. I work from a holistic approach addressing religious and
or spiritual issues when appropriate. I strive to help clients gain a better understanding of who they are and
how to increase their effectiveness with others. My goal as a therapist, is to assist clients to understand patterns,
to increase their life skills and personal strengths in hopes that positive growth will create balance and healthy
relationships."
In working with clients I implement
aspects of various therapeutic orientations including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, MST or Multisystemic
Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems. I also believe strongly in the value of humor.
I offer both assessment and treatment in the context of individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy in the
Kansas City area. I also offer consultation and client centered advocacy.
I can assist clients in a variety
